Comfort

"But Lassie. . . every time you don't look at me. . . I always get t'e feelin' t'at you don't like me."

He cooed, "No.  No.  Tears don't suit you.  Not at all."  

He wiped away the tears on her left cheek and nodded once, "There now.  T'at's better.  These kind of tears spoil your looks.  You're too beautiful a lass to shed tears o' sadness.  If it were up to me. . ." He stopped to brush the back of his flesh fingers down her cheek, ". . . you'd be cryin' tears o' joy."

My favorite scene from a few chapters back in my story.  Silver comforting Marina and her broken heart for the loss of Ariel and her husband from fifteen years ago.  He touches her face ever so gently and softly wipes away her tears.  As he stares deeply into her eyes, she stares back and gradually heals from her inner pain caused by loss and failure.  As she begins to get into the comfort zone around Silver, he wonders what it would feel like if he kissed her.
But they don't kiss.
It's like a Disney tradition where moments like this are interrupted.

I really felt like it's been a while since I've drawn a moment between Silver and Marina because of my project of my 50 actors.  So I drew this out quickly and liked the results.  So here it is. 
Oh, and I didn't do the background.  Just copied, pasted and blurred it out. 
Why am I not doing backgrounds anymore?  Am I getting lazy or something?  *shrug*
