If you haven't seen what I've been putting into one of collections/favorites (Celebs and Memoriam collection), I have a feeling that it's become official. For the first time ever in my life, I have become a Trekkie.
Sure, I'll always and forever remain a Disney fan, and nothing can surpass that. After all I am a movie geek, I love multiple things. Some equally, but Disney still tops them all. And now Star Trek is added to my list of favorite things.
Ever since the day the great Leonard Nimoy passed on, I was starting to get curious of his work.
Yes it is true, I am 29-years-old and not once did I watch anything of Star Trek. But recently I have been renting all of the old movies Nimoy, Shatner, ect. did and I'm like: "Good God! What have I done? I've been missing out on so much! This stuff is great!"
I just shame and hate myself for growing up and avoiding things of Star Trek because I thought that the whole thing would be boring. How wrong I was. Shame on me.
I keep looking up and ask Mr. Nimoy to forgive me for becoming a fan of him only months after his passing. I'm sure he would after I keeping hearing what a great man he truly was in life. I'm sure he'd be glad to know that his work and great wisdom through Spock will be loved by all the newcomer Trekkies and the future generations.
And after watching his work for only a few days, I actually started crying for his passing for the first time after I watched the 2009 Star Trek film. The moment he reveals himself in that film, I started bawling my eyes out for him. And of course I did it again after hearing his narration at the end of the film.
And for all other fans of Spock, I'm sure we all know the truth of what really happen. Leonard Nimoy did not die at all. No.
His work here was done and he was beamed up. And he did a great job at it. Now hopefully the world must follow his famous words he left behind. You know what words I mean. ^^
March 15
Believe it or not, this March 15 is going to be the 25th anniversary of the creation of Marina Seadrift. 25 years of drawing, writing, changing, and improving. Marina Seadrift has come a long way since she was first created when I was middle school and maybe she still has some ways to go. Along the way she has developed many fans and fellow artists who helped her improve her character. 25 years ago, I never imagined my character would earn so many fans, and maybe someday she will become more than just an internet character. So, I really want to thank everyone out there who helped out making Marina what she is so far. On March 15th, I will be submitting a small surprise for her fans to enjoy. Here's to 25 more.
March 15
If you have been following me for a while, then you know what March 15th means. 24th anniversary of the creation of Marina Seadrift, or her birthday if you want to call it that. I will be submitting a new drawing of her tomorrow. So, Happy 24th Birthday/Anniversary to Marina Seadrift!
New Part Time Job
Today is my first solo with my new Part Time Job. Yes. I finally got a part time in an art department! It's on Disney property, but not Disney owned. I'm keeping my full time job with Disney to keep my benefits and have this new job a couple of days after my full schedule. What's the part time job? I'm doing caricatures of people! They pay, we take a picture of them, they go off to continue shopping or dinner, and we draw portraits of them with the big heads, little bodies, and exaggerated portions in a short amount of time. I'm so excited and a little nervous as this is my first day to work on my own. Wish me luck.
Attention Troll
Someone has been trying to get into my account. I have been getting emails from DA that someone has been trying to guess my password but have fail five times today just as they tried over a week ago. Whoever you are, cut it out and give it up because you'll never guess my password. Trolls and hackers never win. Get it through your heads.
