After transporting the newly bought goods through the magic of their weapons, the gang finally made it to the palace walls.  Everyone was amazed at how big the palace really was.  They almost felt like their own castle would be dwarfed in comparison.  During the whole walk up to the gate, the gang kept looking at the place as it would remind them a little of the famous Taj Mahal of India but most likely three times as big with its domed roofs made of gold.  When they made it to the gate, they noticed a balcony over the large door that was perfect for the Sultan or Vizier to give out a public announcement to the city.

On the side of the big doors were two big guards, but in the center was an even larger guard who stood there as though he were a human wall refusing anyone to pass through.  With his arms crossed over his muscular chest and his brow lowered below his turban, he gave out short huff when he looked upon the approaching group.

Dale was on Marina's shoulder when he whispered behind his paw, "I take back calling that apple guy an ape.  Check out this big gorilla."

Marina and Donald tried not to laugh until Jiminy sternly cleared his throat.  They stopped and made it in front of the large guard.

Donald stood tall and clear his throat as well.  He stepped forward, "We are here on important business with His Majesty Sultan Ramid."

"Hamid!" Marina immediately told him.

"Hamid!" he corrected himself.  "We have credentials from our own king, His Majesty King Mickey Mouse."  He handed the guard his letter baring Mickey's seal, "Please let us in."

The guard cocked a brow and spoke with a low gravely voice, "What in the name of Allah did you say?"

Marina, José, Panchito, and the chipmunks chuckled under breath as Donald gritted his teeth with his face turning red with anger.

Goofy stepped forward, "Uh, we're just here to see the Saltin to have a word with him, Mister. . . uh. . ."

"Captain," the guard grunted.  "Captain Razoul of the Guard.  And just what business do you have with the Sultan?"

"It's important, Captain Ruzoo," said Goofy.

"That's Razoul!" the guard raised his voice.

"Uh, sir," Marina stopped giggling and came to Goofy's side.  "Captain Razoul. . . it's important that we speak with His Majesty right away."  She paused to take away the credentials from Donald, who was counting to ten to calm down.  She handed it to the guard, "I can assure you we come forth to you and His Majesty in peace."

Razoul bent forward to look her eye to eye causing her to bend back, "And what makes you think I'm gonna let you in without the Sultan's permission?"

Marina's eyelid twitch at the stench of breath that went through Razoul's missing front tooth.  She answered, "Captain, if you could just give this to the Sultan and tell him that we will wait here for his permission--"

"And what if I don't want to?" he smirked.

Marina lowered her brow for his rudeness and also for some sort of familiarity with this big guard.  She asked, "Captain. . . have we met before?  There's something. . . very familiar about you."

Goofy smiled, "I was thinking the same thing.  Were you ever in Magic Kingdom?"

Razoul stood straight with his arms still crossed, "Magic Kingdom?  Never heard of it."

"Well, your voice is quite familiar," Marina tapped her chin.  "You remind me of someone."

Right then, the gates opened from the inside behind Razoul.  The guard turned around to see who was coming out.  He uncrossed his arms and bowed along with the other two guards as a tall thin man stepped out.  He was an elder man wearing black and red royal Arabian attire along with a black turban and cape over his shoulder pads that curled up like horns.  His face was almost like a skeleton with narrow eyes and on his pointed chin was a thin curled beard.  In his hand was a golden staff that was in the shape of a cobra with ruby set eyes, and upon his shoulder sat a scarlet macaw with a sinister smile upon his beak.

As the man was approaching Razoul, Goofy whispered, "Is that the Sultan?  Should we bow to him too?"

Marina's heart thumped for a second from the sight of this tall man until Razoul spoke, "At your service, Jafar.  Your presence honors us."

"Jafar?" Marina whispered.  She looked down to retrace the memory of her royalty book.  She quietly repeated the name trying to remember, but the only thing she could think of was an old image of Sultan Hamid and his daughter Jasmine when she was six.

The man named Jafar stopped and spoke in an oily voice, "Razoul, I have an order for you and your men."

"Yes, sir," Razoul nodded.

"RAH!!  OUTSIDERS!!  OUTSIDERS!!" the parrot on Jafar's shoulder squawked in a very raspy voice.

"Down, Iago," he told his parrot.  When the bird, Iago, was quiet, Jafar looked upon the strangers.  He raised a brow, "And what is this?"

Razoul yelled at the group and pointed to the ground, "Ignorant fools!  Bow to the Grand Vizier!"

"Oh!" Marina blinked as she remembered the name.  "Jafar, the Grand Vizier.  Of course."  She bowed to him and glanced at the boys to have them do the same.  When they did, she added, "Forgive us, sir.  Slight misunderstanding."

"And just what can I do for all of you?" he asked.

"We are here on important business to talk to His Majesty Sultan Hamid," Marina answered with her head still down to him.  "May we please see him?"

"I'm afraid His Majesty is quite busy at the moment.  You'll have to come back tomorrow.  I'm sure he will be most happy to see you in the morning."

Marina raised her head, "But, Sir, I don't think this should wai--"

"RAH!!"  Iago flew off Jafar's shoulder and yelled in Marina's face.  "Tomorrow!  Tomorrow!!  TOMORROW!!!  MOST HAPPY TO SEE YOU IN THE MORNING!!!"

"Okay!  OKAY!!  GEEZ!!" Marina backed away from the bird.  She scratched the itch out of her ear his loud voice gave her.  "Until then. . . Jafar. . .  Captain Razoul."  She bowed with the boys once more and they all turned to walk away.

As they were leaving, Razoul said, "A strange group if you ask me, Sir.  You really think what they wanted to say was of importance?"

Iago landed on Jafar's shoulder as the vizier glared at the departing group.  He curled his beard around his finger as he grew a smirk, "Strange they may look. . . but I detect quite an amount of strength from within each of them.  Perhaps they too can be diamonds in the rough."

"Sir?" Razoul didn't understand.

"It's no matter for now, Captain.  Right now, I have an important job for you.  I have made the location of a certain young man I believe you have been on the hunt for many years now.  I'm sure you know him best as a regular Street Rat."

Razoul made a large grin with his eye full of anger.  He drew out his scimitar, "It shall be done with great pleasure, Sir.  I want that boy's hands for a trophy on my wall."

"I warn you, Razoul," Jafar glared at him.  "If you and your men do as much as harm this boy, you'll answer to me.  I want this boy alive and imprisoned before sundown.  Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir," Razoul bowed his head.

Before the group was at a fair distance, Marina stopped to rub her ear again.  She grunted, "Man, that parrot had an annoying voice.  My ears are still tickling me.  And here, I thought you had the loudest beak, Donald."

"HEY!!"

"I'm just teasing," she smirked.  "But seriously. . . ugh!"

"But why are we taking the word of a parrot?" Dale asked.  "We should be talking to the Sultan right now.  We shouldn't wait until tomorrow."

"I agree, but if the Royal Vizier says so, it is best that we do," Marina sighed.

"Ah, phooey," Donald crossed his arms.

"Uh, just what is a Royal Vizor?" asked Goofy.  "Is he important?"

Marina answered, "That's Royal Vizier, Goof.  And, yes, he is important.  A Vizier is a Prime Minister to the Sultan.  A political advisor, if you will.  He's like the second most important person to the kingdom. . . I think."

"Something like that," Jiminy nodded.

Panchito said, "Vizier or not, that Jafar gave me the shivers."

"Sim," José nodded.  "Muito assusatador."

"So, what should we do now?" asked Dale.

Everyone looked at Donald.  He noticed that all eyes were on him, he shrugged, "What?!"

Marina scoffed, "Well, ever since this mission started, you were always the decision maker as though you were in charge of us all."  She shifted her weight from one leg to the next, "So, Your Grace. . . what do we do?"

He rolled his eyes and sighed, "Fine. . . we'll come back tomorrow morning.  Until then, we'll go around the city and see if we can find any Nightmares."  He took out the radar and turned it on.  After pushing a few buttons, he said, "There's still no readings around yet, but we should do so anyway.  I think we should split up into two groups."

"Well, we could cover more ground that way," Jiminy nodded.

"Goofy, you go with Panchito and Jiminy to the south side of the city," said Donald.  "Joe, you'll come with me, Marina and the chipmunks.  We'll take the north."

Goofy saluted, "Aye, aye, Donald."

"No problemo, Donal'," Panchito winked.  "And we'll meet back at the ship before dawn.  Si?"

"Deal."

"Okay, see you guys then," Goofy waved.  "Be careful."  He turned around and paused for a while to remember where south was, but Panchito grabbed him by the wrist and dragged him along with Jiminy close behind.

The sun started to lower over the horizon within the hour.  With the heat of the desert slowly dropping for the coolness of the night, many of the vendors of the marketplace were closing shop.  Things were beginning to get a little quieter in the city as it was getting darker by the minute, but while walking down the main street, Dale broke the silence, "Is it just me or is time really flying by us?  I feel like it was morning only a few hours ago."

"That's because Marina wasted most of the day with her shopping," Donald mumbled.

"I did not," Marina growled.  "In case you didn't know, this world has shorter days than many others.  It has at least twelve hours to a day.  Six hours for daylight, and six for night.  Some say there are times when the night can last longer than the day around here."

"Really?" José asked.  "That's very interesting."

"All the same, you've wasted most of the day," said Donald

Marina moaned, "How come I ended up going with you, Don?  You kill the fun out of a lot of things."

"Because the last thing we want is for you to go back and shop for more clothes!  You've got enough as is.  We might as well just let you stay back home and let you shop at the malls with Daisy."

"Hey, I'm not just buying things for a fashion statement!" Marina lowered her brow.  "I'm just interested in the different styles I'll be seeing while traveling from world to world.  It's not exactly a shopping spree for me.  Fashion can be cultural and I love learning of other cultures.  You know that.  It's what explorers like me do.  But. . . okay maybe it was a shopping spree back in Vegas, but it's not the same here."

José smiled, "I don't complain about it.  I too am interested with a lot of the things we've been seeing here."

Chip said, "It's nice that you are taking interest with the different cultures we'll be seeing, Marina, but you mustn't forget why we are here.  We've gotta stop the Nightmares before they do anything."

"I haven't forgotten," she shrugged.  "But it's hard to resist seeing things that are handmade in certain places.  Those necklaces I bought and other jewelry are really something.  Besides, it might be a good thing that Jafar told us to come back tomorrow.  Now I have something proper to wear before the Sultan.  Maybe I can get something for you guys to wear as well."  She paused for a moment and then snapped her fingers,  "Oh!  And I just remembered something.  It is custom for us to offer the Sultan a gift when we confront him."

"A gift?" Chip asked.  "What kind of gift?"

"It has to be something he doesn't have and of interest.  Something from our world for instance." Marina scratched the back of her neck.  "Hmm. . . now what do we have on the ship that we can give away to him?  Something that wouldn't be too out of this world.  It can't be electric because this world doesn't have that sort of stuff."

"Oh, don't worry about that now, Marina," José touched her hand.  "We'll think of something in the morning."  He whispered behind his hand, "Let's just look around for Nightmares before Donal' loses it again."

Marina smiled, but Donald yelled, "I heard that!"

The chipmunks giggled.  It wasn't only a few seconds after when the group heard the sound of an old man's voice screaming down an alleyway.

"Help me!  Someone help me!  Help a poor old man in need!!"

"This way, guys!" Donald ran ahead with his hammer drawn out.

The others followed him to the alley.  They came around a corner to find five common Nightmares, similar to the ones that attacked the castle of Magic Kingdom.  They were the size of an average dog, all black with sharp razor spikes on top of their heads and all of their joints, teeth like a shark, and large yellow eyes glowing like firelight.  The five of them prowling their way up to a corner where an old man was trapped.

"Hey!!" Donald yelled.  "Leave that man alone!!"

The Nightmares hissed as they turned to face the group approaching them with their weapons drawn out.  One by one they gave out a loud cougar like roar and charged.

Donald jumped high into the air with his hammer over his head.  He was falling toward the two leading Nightmares.  Like the game of High Striker, he slammed the hammer on the head of the first Nightmare smashing it to dust.  Then he immediately spun around once swinging his hammer at the second one like a baseball bat.  He smashed it against the Nightmare and had it thrown against the wall exploding into dust.

Marina came up against the first Nightmare that was charging at her.  She held her sword out behind her and simply smiled as Chip and Dale leaped in front of her at the Nightmare.  The little beast stopped in its tracks at first as the two chipmunks stood there in front of it.  They both stuck out their tongues with a raspberry and then scurried separate ways around it.  With the Nightmare not knowing which way to look, it forgot about Marina.  She swung her sword in an uppercut and slashed it in half.  After the two halves dissolved, the chipmunks gave Marina a quick thumbs up.

José unfastened his umbrella as the last two were approaching him.  When the first one pounced toward him, he easily skewered it in the chest with the ferrule.  After it turned to dust, the final Nightmare jumped at him, but José popped open the umbrella.  A forcefield busted out and pushed the creature at the wall busting it to pieces and dust.  Once he saw that all of the Nightmares were gone, he closed the umbrella and twirled it like a baton.

"Muito fácil."

Donald smirked, "It's about time we faced these Nightmares off.  We haven't come across these since we left Merlin's place.  Well, no more goose chasing for us!  No, sir-ey!"

Marina walked over to the corner and approached the old man.  He was curled up like a ball to protect himself from the beasts and barely saw everything that had happened.  He was a very old man with no hair on his head, but with a long white beard.  The clothes upon his hunched over back were ragged and frayed and his shoes were so worn out that all of his toes were forced out.

Marina handed the old man his cane and helped him up to his feet, "Are you okay, sir?"

He responded in an old raspy voice, "Oh, thank you, my friends.  Allah praise you all for coming.  Those beasts were coming at me.  I would've taken care of them myself, but. . . as you can see, I'm not as strong as I used to be.  These old bones are more brittle than twigs."

Donald came up to him, "Well, you should know better than to walk down the streets all by yourself and into a dark alley.  You never can tell where a Nightmare will come up."

"Forgive me, dear friends, but I was following you all for the past few minutes," the old man replied.  "I couldn't help but listen in on your conversations.  I see that you came a long way to fight off the Nightmares.  Good.  Good.  It's high time someone stopped those horrible monsters.  The kingdom's guards always have their hands full of other things. . . dirty things that is.  Why less than an hour ago, they dragged in a poor boy to the palace dungeon."

"Boy?  What boy?" asked José.

"Why, Aladdin is his name. . . or the Street Rat, as everyone in town calls him.  I'm sure you saw him earlier today.  Everyone sees him somewhere stealing something like a loaf of bread every day with his little monkey friend."

The boys and Marina blinked when they knew who he was talking about.

"The boy who help the pretty girl," said Donald.

"Ah, yes," nodded the old man.  "The Princess."

"Princess?!" everyone gasped.

Marina punched her palm, "Of course!  That's why she looked so familiar!  Princess Jasmine!  It explains a lot."

"But what was she doing disguised as a peasant girl?" asked Chip.

"More than that?" Marina rubbed her chin.  "What was she doing out of the palace?  It's known for a princess like her not to be seen out of the palace until after her marriage.  Or. . . something like that.  Did she run away?"

"Precisely, my dear," said the old man.  "And now she has returned and believes it to be her fault that this poor boy was arrested."

Donald asked, "You don't suppose they arrested him for kidnapping the princess do you?"

Marina gasped, "The sentence for that would be beheading!"

Dale grinned, "Why would they want his head?  Don't they have one of their own?"

Chip bopped him on the head, "This is no time for joking!"

"That's awful," said Marina.  "They'll sentence the boy for a crime he didn't commit."

"Perhaps there's something we can do.  I too can't bare the thought of an innocent boy facing such a wrongful death," said the old man.  He put his hands around Donald and Marina's shoulders, "Tell me, my dears. . . you think you can help an old man free an innocent young man?  I'm sure I can make it worth your while."

Marina pulled herself away from the old man as the breath coming pass his gapped teeth was so foul that her eyes were watering.  She cleared her throat, "Well. . . we'd love to, but. . ."

"But nothing," said the old man.  "I know what it is you want.  Once you go to meet the Sultan in person in the morning, you'll need a gift to present to him.  I think I can solve your problem."

"Oh?" Donald cocked a brow.  "How?"

"Uh-uh," the old man winked.  "Not here.  Wait until we save the boy.  This is a quest I need all of you to help me with.  Do we have a deal?"

The group looked at each other.  They were all curious of what the old man wanted and how he could help them get a gift for the Sultan.  So, they had no choice but to agree.

After showing the way to a hidden tunnel under the city, the old man lead the group up a hidden staircase.  It stopped at a wall where he simply pushed a stone that opened to a dark room.  When he stepped through, the boys and Marina looked inside finding that it was the palace dungeon.  It was dark and gloomy with it's chains and stocks.  Not to mention the number of rats crawling around the place.  Within a dark corner sat the very same boy named Aladdin and his pet rhesus from the market.

"Who are you?" Aladdin saw the old man and group.

"Fear not, boy," said the old man.  "I'm just a low peasant just as you are.  We are here to break you out. . . but only if you are to help me out with something else.  These outsiders have agreed to accompany you if you agree to do so.  As long as we work together, we can be a lot more than we are now."

Aladdin looked at the group as they were entering the dungeon.  He seemed to recognize them from the streets.

"Hey there," Donald greeted them.  "Nice to meet ya."

"Como vi," said José.

"Uh. . . hi," Aladdin smiled at the friendliness of the group not minding how different they looked.

Marina asked, "Hello.  You two doing okay?  We heard that you were accused for kidnapping the princess."

"Is that what they're saying?" Aladdin scoffed.  "Figures.  She told me she ran away.  All I did was help her when she was in trouble.  Sure, she was worth it, but it's not like I'll ever see her again.  She's gotta marry a prince because of the law."

"Oh, don't be fool, boy," said the old man.  "I know what can fix this.  Listen carefully, my friends.  There is a cave out in the desert.  It is called the Cave of Wonders and it is filled with treasure beyond your wildest dreams."

"Treasure?" Donald's eyes opened wider.  "What kind of treasure?"

"Enough for all of you to be as rich as any sultan or king with but a handful of gold.  Why, all of you shall get whatever you wish with such treasures.  There's enough there to even impress a certain princess.  You understand who I mean, boy."

Aladdin said, "Well, yeah, but the law says that Princess Jasmine can only marry a--"

"Ah, ah, ah," the old man waved a finger.  "Those who have the gold makes the rules.  That's the golden rule."

"Wait a minute," Marina lowered a brow and raised a hand.  "There's gotta be some kinda catch and it seems a bit rotten to me.  Why are you willing to share such a wildest dream of a treasure with all of us, Sir?  We're all just a bunch of strangers to you."

"My thoughts exactly," Aladdin crossed his arms.

"Easy, my dear," he answered.  "The only ones who can enter this cave must have strong hearts.  As you can see, I'm just old and withered.  And there is but one thing to walk through to own this treasure.  The only way for this treasure to be all yours is for you to get me what I want. . . And that's the most valuable piece.  Retrieve it for me, and the rest is your greatest reward."

Donald asked, "So. . . all we have to do is get this one piece to you and the rest of the treasure will be ours?"

"That's what I said, friend.  But we have to hurry.  It is for the best that we leave the city while it's dark.  This tunnel will lead us under the city and the outside walls.  So. . . do we have a deal?"

Everyone looked at each other.  They all were once again too curious of what the most valuable piece was and just what this treasure was really like.  Aladdin's monkey shrugged.  So the boy said, "I guess we do if this treasure is all you say it is."

"I'm in too," said José.

"Same here," Donald raised a hand.

"Ditto," said the chipmunks.

"Okay," Marina nodded.  "But this better be worth it."

"Good.  Follow me, my children," the old man made a sinister smile as he went back into the tunnel.

Marina stepped forward, "Well, we might as well.  A part of this great treasure would be a perfect gift for the Sultan when we go to meet him."

"Yeah," Aladdin held his hand out to her.  "I'm Aladdin, by the way.  This is my friend Abu."

"Halluu," the rhesus tipped his fez.

Marina shook hands with him, "Nice to meet you, kid.  Marina Seadrift."

"Donald Duck."

"José Carioca.  Como vi."

"The name's Dale.  And this is Chip."
I know.
It's almost like. . . blah, blah, blah, and they meet Aladdin and Abu. But at least it won't be long until they meet a certain blue friend. ^^
It's a little long, but at least I've added some important things. And a few inside jokes. LOL. Ones such as them finding something familiar about Razoul. ^^
If this seemed boring, I'll try harder in the next one when they come to the Cave of Wonders.

If there are any spelling or grammar errors, please tell me.
